The winner of the Chronicle & Echo’s search for Northampton’s Best Bar 2014 has been revealed as the Princess Alexandra .
The pub, which reopened its doors after an extensive refurbishment in June, is under new ownership.
The management team behind the Princess Alexandra, The Good Pub & Restaurant Company Ltd, come from a variety of backgrounds. They are all Northampton locals and from various disciplines, but said they all shared a desire to enjoy the ‘big city craft bar experience’ closer to home and better than ever.
The pub has modern, comfortable furnishings and a welcoming log burner to create the perfect ambiance for enjoying a wide range of craft beers, cask ales, ciders and fine wines.
The most unique feature at the pub is the drinks menu, which changes weekly, with new innovative beverages from around the globe constantly being introduced.
The food menu has been developed specifically to complement the beverages. There is also a menu for the upstairs function room, available for exclusive use, which even has its own beer taps. You can literally have your favourite beverages ‘on tap’, they said.
There will be a German ‘tap takeover’ between December 31 and January 4 to give customers the chance to try a range of new beers for a limited period of time.
